Reduce costs, transit a test cargo on the route, and explore opportunities and ahead challenges
 

The Second Strategic Economic Dialogue between India and Russia, with the invitation of the Managing Director of Anzali and Chabahar Free Zone Organization, with the presence of Managing Director of Special Economic Zone of Lotus Astrakhan, other Russian officials and managers of the Federation of the Indian Transportation Association hosted by India's was held in New Delhi.

Accordingly, this special meeting was held with the participation of a number of government and private sector executive manager from Iran, India and Russia, with the aim of examining various opportunities for multilateral cooperation in the framework of utilizing capacities of the north-south corridor hosted by the Indian side

Dr. Reza Masrour, chairman of the board of directors and managing director of the organization discussed about operation of this international transit route and pointed out to objectives followed by meeting organizers who reviewed issues and problems facing north-south corridor, saying that reducing costs and time in trade is one of the most important issues in trade, as a result of which these issues should be the most important reasons for the formation of this international event with the participation of government officials and private sector in different countries

The chairman of the board of directors and managing director of the Anzali Free Zone Organization assessed the Indian summit as an opportunity for exchange of views among all the countries of the north-south corridor, and said: "With firm determination of the beneficiary parties transportation of goods via this international corridor is also possible because it reduce cost of goods through Europe and Asia in terms of time and cost.

He pointed out to presence of managing director of Chabahar Free Zone Organization and Caspian Sea Shipping Company at the meeting and also emphasized on reducing transportation costs though this trade route and highlighted the serious determination of Iranian and Russian officials to achieve this goal. He said: "On the other hand, by taking advantage of the railway network from the Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas to Rasht, 30 kilometers away from the Caspian port cost reduction is practically possible, of course by reducing costs transit of goods in this cost-effective route is affordable and basis for using North-South Corridor will be provided and welcomed.

Managing director of the Anzali Free Zone Organization has proposed transit of a pilot cargo via this corridor stating that transit of goods between Mumbai, Moscow or St. Petersburg in practice will cause probable problems be identified and after transit of pilot cargo and holding another meeting we will discuss ways to remove barriers to facilitate and expedite transit of goods between three countries.

Therefore, the report examines the challenges faced by the operation of the Nostrac Corridor, examines the capabilities of the maritime transport and the ports of the three countries of Iran, India and Russia with the presence of the authorities of these countries, holding two and multi-literal meetings between the participants and issuance of the final statement is main aim of this International Multilateral Economic Summit.

It should be mention that few weeks ago, on the sidelines of the 15th Joint Commission of Iran and Russia, a trilateral agreement was concluded between of Anzali, Chabahar and Lotus Astrakhan of Russia free zones and invitation of the directors of these three free zones to attend in this meeting should be consider as another step towards implementation of the north-south corridor, transit route between Iran, Russia and India was created in 2000 will reduce the time and cost of transit of goods between South and Southeast of Asia with Europe.
