Allocation of 20 hectares of lands in Astrakhan's special economic zone to Iranian companies

By signing a memorandum of understanding between Mr.Reza Masrour, chairman of the board of directors and managing director of Anzali Free Zone Organization and Sergei Miloshkin, Managing Director of Special Economic Zone of Lotus, with the allocation of 20 hectares of Astrakhan's special Zone to Iranian companies, the region will become a center for processing semi-finished goods and exporting Iranian products to Eurasia.

According to the memorandum, with the provision of 20 hectares of industrial land to Iranian companies for the production of semi-manufactured goods, a good opportunity will be created for the export of Iranian goods required by the Russian market and the neighboring countries, by taking advantages of the Astrakhan special economic zone and the exemptions for trade exchanges between Eurasian economic actors, The Iranian companies introduced by Anzali Free Zone Organization can access to the markets of the countries with their production and processing of goods in the special Astrakhan area, this measures is an effective step towards consolidating and deepening the economic and trade relations between the two countries, especially in the Caspian Sea region, Activating the North-South Corridor and expanding Iran's exports to the Caspian littoral states.

Mr. Reza Mesrour on the sidelines of this memorandum, referring to visits and talks conducted yesterday, Stated that we will do our best to attract the top Iranian companies for joint production in the Lotus Special Economic Zone.

Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the Organization, expressing his hopes for the future of Lotus Astrakhan's Special Economic Zone on the path to attracting investors stated, with the will of the Managing Directors of this area, in the future, large companies will be attracted to this area.

He emphasized on cooperation in the development of economic, commercial, industrial, transit, port and port services aimed at promoting the level of bilateral cooperation using existing and potential facilities. Many companies in Anzali Free Zone are currently active in various fields; the target market for many of these companies is Russia.

 Sergei Miloshkin, Managing Director of Lotus Special Economic Zone, expressed his hope for the presence of Iranian companies in the area and increased economic relations between the two countries. In spite of the very short time activity of the Lotus Special Economic Zone, we can take significant steps according to framework of the signed memorandums to facilitate the development of trade business and interaction relations between two countries.

At the signing ceremony, the Director General of the Guilan Province, the Director General of the Caspian Sea Shipping Company, Iranian Shipping Managers and Iranian businessmen active in the city of Astrakhan, Russia, and a number of Russian economic activists were present.
